Welcome to Lady Steel Ministries
I have been a Christian for more than thirty years, and an actor, singer, and dancer nearly as long. The passion of my heart is storytelling, whether I am acting, singing, dancing, teaching a workshop, or delivering a message as a motivational/inspirational speaker.
I believe that each of us has the power to impact other people’s lives by telling stories that reveal the truth about who we are as human beings, who God made us to be, how we interact with each other, how we relate to God, and how God relates to us.
Lady Steel Ministries began after I had invested six years of training in theatre, dance, and film studies. I wanted to use my gifts, talents, abilities, knowledge, and life experience in ways that would minister to those around me. I began to pray, asking God to show me how He would have me to use my gifts. Soon thereafter, the vision began to form for this ministry.
I am located in central North Carolina, but I love to travel, so if you would like for me to visit your church, business, or organization, please use the contact form to get in touch with me. I look forward to hearing from you!
Four principles
My ministry centers on these four Biblically-based principles: creativity, authenticity, courage, and compassion.
Creativity
God is the Great Creator. Creator is another name for artist. Thus, being artistic and creative is one way that we demonstrate and celebrate being made in the image of God. However, there are many misconceptions about creativity that keep some people from pursuing their God-given gifts and that leave others — who have dared to use their gifts — with a great deal of unnecessary guilt about doing so. I know — I have been both of those, and so my heart goes out to anyone stuck in either situation. For that reason, my ministry celebrates the arts, creativity, artists of all stripes — and those who have only dreamed of being creative.
Authenticity
Each of us is a unique human being. There has never been anyone like you; there will never be anyone like you again. Why, then, do we spend so much time “conforming” and “fitting in”? Especially when we are reminded not to conform to this world? In my ministry, I focus on what it means to discover and live out our authentic selves as unique individuals.
Courage
Be strong and very courageous.
The phrase “be strong and courageous” appears ten times in the Bible; the eleventh time, God tells Joshua, “Be strong and very courageous” (Joshua 1:7a, NIV). Yet many people live their lives crippled or even paralyzed by fear. I know — I used to be one of them, and I still struggle with doubts and fears on a daily basis. But having conquered many of my fears, one by one, I have learned lessons about fear that I pass along in my ministry.
Compassion
One of the greatest gifts that we can give to each other as human beings is compassion. What does it mean to be compassionate? How does compassion differ from pity? How did Jesus model compassion for us? I explore these and other questions in my ministry.
Forms of ministry
My ministry centers on performance (acting, singing, interpretive dance) and education (motivational and inspirational speaking and workshops, including those centered on movies and television episodes. Please feel free to browse through the site to learn more about me and Lady Steel Ministries.
